CATI – COMPUTER ASSISTED TELEPHONE INTERVIEW

Content

CATIs use specialized software to conduct telephone interviews. In a specialized call center trained interviewers carry out telephone interviews. For this purpose, the center has a database from which it generates a list of respondents to be interviewed through a process of number randomisation.

Unlike other studies, in CATIs the questionnaire and all other materials relevant to the study are digitalised and answers are registered directly, without using paper forms. This helps to significantly reduce the time for collection and preliminary processing pf quantitative data.

Advantages

All interviews are recorded and their conduct can be monitored in real time. Upon request, the client can listen to recordings of the interviews. All information on fieldwork is available in digital form: the duration of the interview, the localities where the telephone interviews were conducted, etc.

Application

CATI is suitable for:
• business research;
• quantitative research among consumers;
• research connected to advertisement/promotions;
• media research.
